IN the depth of my chamber last night the breeze of
Spring arose;
My old friend and I are still parted by the waters of the
Hsiang River.
On my pillow, in a flash of time, care Spring's dream,
Wherein I covered all the thousand miles of Chiang-nan.
Last night, as I slept, The spring wind tiptoed Into my room, Bringing dreams. And my dream Was of her I love, Far, far away, South of the waters of Hsiang And, as I tossed on my pillow, In that instant, Borne on the wings of the wind, I was transported a thousand li, Even to the land of Hsiang. |
