THE wine made me oblivious to day's ending;
All over me the flowers had drooped.
Drunk, I arose, walking by the moonlit stream;
The birds had flown home, and people had departed.
With wine I did not notice the approach of evening. All my clothes were covered in fallen petals. Drunken I arose, and paced the stream by moonlight. I saw few people or returning birds. Absorbed with my wine I didn't notice the twilight my clothes were covered with fallen petals drunk I rose up and trailed the moon in the quiet creek birds gone people few Drinking alone without knowing the coming of dusk, I discover my robe covered with fallen petals. Drunk, I rise to walk along the moonlit creek— The birds have gone and few are the people around. I sat drinking and did not notice the dusk, Till falling petals filled the folds of my dress. Drunken I rose and walked to the moonlit stream; The birds were gone, and men also few. With wine I sit absent to Night, till (Fallen petals in folds of my gown) I stagger up to stalk the brook's moon: The birds are gone and people are few! |
