題名: 贈孟浩然
作者: 李白
吾愛孟夫子,風流天下聞。紅顏棄軒冕,白首臥松雲。醉月頻中聖,迷花不事君。高山安可仰,徒此揖清芬。
英譯: I like my friend Meng, Whose art and fame are known to all under Heaven. Red-cheeked, he threw away carriage and cap. White-haired, he lies among the pines and the clouds. Like the ancients, he can get drunk on moonlight; Preferring flowers, he has no desire to serve Emperors. How can one climb so high a mountain? I can only breathe my admiration for his purity.
I love the Master, Meng Hao-jan, A free spirit known the whole world through. In the flush of youth he spurned the cap and carriage, And rests now, white-haired with age, among clouds and pines. Drunk in moonlight, often “smitten by the sage,” Or led astray by flowers, he does not serve his lord. The highest mountain—how can I look to climb it? I can do no more than kneel to his pure fragrance.
I like you, my friend, Meng, Your love of beauty is something known To everybody under heaven. When young with red cheeks, You cast aside your carriage and cap; Now that your head is white, You lie among the pine trees and the clouds. You get drunk with the moon As often as with the transparent wine; And to the honor of serving the emperor You prefer the rapture of blossoms. Your nobility looms up like a high mountain, Too high for others to attain to; But they may breathe the rare fragrance $(That your soul imparts)$.
