The fledgeling geese are as yellow as wine ;
I love them much when I hold a cup and dine .
Approaching , the prow their necks stretch to defy ,
And swarming without line , they dazzle mine eye .
Last night , the rain has beaten their pinions ,
Now they fret o'er the waves because of weak sinews .
Soon the dusk will veil the town and guests will go ,
And what can you do with the fox─ $(the foe ?)$
