I'm so idle and free from work
That I even resemble a recluse.
Buddha allows me to be a disciple;
Heaven permits me to be a man of leisure.
I simply place my bed
In view of water;
As I lie down
Nothing presses close to me.
I let the pure breeze
Scatter my hair.
I need no turban.
My food so frugal I could be fasting, so idled from work I'm like a recluse. The Buddha allows me to be a disciple, Heaven permits me to be a man of leisure. I place my bed in the water's view, not a thing close by. Let the pure breeze scatter my hair as I lie, I need no turban. |
