Rising early, I ride in a sedan chair,
Tipsy from my wine-cup until the first of dawn.
When I leave my chair at night, I rest,
Then wake once more from a remnant of spring sleep.
My body is in no way concerned with the management things;
My heart harbors not a single thought.
I fear that only Ch'i and Li,
Those two luminaries from the mountains
Can know the flavor of my feelings.
Rising early I ride in a sedan chair, wine-cup tipsy in the early dawn. Night I leave the sedan chair and rest, then awake from that spring-remnant sleep. My body's not intent on managing things, my heart doesn't have a thought in mind. I fear that only Ch'i and Li the two mountain luminaries can know the flavor of my feelings. |
