When the wild crane
Leaves its cage
There's an empty boat
Tossed forever on the winds.
I feel my melancholy driven
Back to its very breaking point.
There comes a shift into old age
In the midst of idleness.
What can I still desire?
That Heaven enrich
This old man,
But to enrich him with what?—
With a never-empty winery.
Once the wild crane leaves its cage, an empty boat is forever entrusted to the winds. I see melancholy off back to the bustling places, shift into old age in the midst of idleness. What do I still desire? That Heaven might enrich this old man— enrich him how? With a winery that's never empty. |
