I rise at dawn,
Put on my clothes,
Leave my hair uncombed,
My hat behind,
Enter the forest.
Night dew enhances the aroma of remaining flowers;
Morning light defines shadows of new leaves.
Few human traces appear under the pines;
Many bird-calls are heard in the depths of the bamboos.
Leaning idly on a small bridge,
I stand with bowed head,
From time to time singing a song.
Putting on my clothes, hair uncombed, hat unworn. I rise at dawn, enter the forest. Night dew, the aroma of remnant flowers; morning light shadows the new leaves. Beside the pines human traces few, between the bamboo bird cries in the depths. Idly leaning by a small bridge I stand head inclined at times a song. |
