That months of steaming heat have passed
Perfectly suits this old, sick body.
No more are my clothes in the morning
Perspiration-soaked.
Each night pillow and mat befriend me.
An early, fine, delicate moon
Shines above the tower;
A light, gen tle, freshening breeze
Sweeps across the waves.
Poets of all men are first
To be moved by such scenes and moments.
Those months of steamy heat have now passed, perfectly suiting this old sick body. Mornings clothes no longer perspiration-soaked, nights pillow and mat befriend me. The moon delicate fine early above the tower, the breeze slight weak new along the waves. Poets are the first to be moved by time and scene. |
