The stream in flood washes Little Terrace
Till there's not a speck of dust on top.
I remove my sash to sit facing the west,
Loosen my gown to welcome the breeze.
Evening coolness creates a carefree joy;
I long to share the wine-cup with friends.
A bright moon awaits us beside my brushwood doors;
When will you visit me with your goosefoot cane?
The stream spilling over washes Little Terrace till there's not a speck of dust on top. I take off my sash to sit facing the west, loosening my gown to let in the breeze. Evening coolness moves me to the idle joy, I think of sharing the wine-cup. Bright moon awaits outside my brushwood doors; when will you come to visit with your goosefoot cane? |
