Aging with you,
asking myself
What's old age like?
Eyes befuddled,
first to sleep at night;
head lazy,
morning still not combed.
At times I go out
cane-supported
or stay in all day
behind closed doors,
loathe to see my reflection
in the newly polished mirror,
not reading books
written in small characters.
The weight of feeling on my old friends,
little affinity with youth.
I only care for idle chatter—
If I see you
there'll be words in excess.
