This is early summer's month of pure harmony;
I am the Eastern Capital's free and indolent official,
With no sickness nor bodily pain,
No cold or famine before my eyes.
I am often saddened by what I hear of worldly things
But heartily rejoice when I meet with old friends,
Urging my guest to stay behind for the wine-cup,
Indulgently inviting my whore to entertain him.
Snow-white locks accord with my aging body,
Yet my heart every where dwells in peace.
I'm like a serene cloud.
Yes,there's a special flavor in all this
Which I have tried through my verses to intimate to you.
