Once his dusty robe was off
the Zen master appeared this cloudless night
all the way from Holin Temple
though we know the world is empty
birds flutter startled among dark leaves
a stream winds through a secluded garden
my apologies for not being Hsuan-tu
but I still share his joy in verse
