In the radiant morning sunshine
I survey the boundless clear lake
the tall trees are beginning to leaf out
spring outings starting to become grand
especially upon meeting friends of the brush
who love to float around in a boat
where the green countryside and far waves meet
and bands of clouds divide layered ridges
when days at court leave officials weary
their unspoken feelings here find release
with wine today in good supply
I trust we'll exceed every measure
