Just look at this bright mirror
that soared into the sky
the big sword in the song
is enough to split my heart
a spinning thistledown
I have whirled far away
I'm as likely to reach Chang'an
as to grasp that cassia in the moon
the great river of heaven
is white as snow overhead
even birds that roost in the woods
are visible in this light
I stare at the rabbit up there
in that enormous disk
and I can almost count
the hairs upon his back!
The mirror giant in my eyes dazzles bright , My eagerness of going home can break a sword . I have gone far away , like the fleabane in flight , Too high to climb the Cassia Tree in the Round World . The angel's pathway seems to be paved with snow , The arboreal creatures their feathers can be seen . Looking up at the white Moon Hare from here below , One can actually count the fluffy fur in the sheen . |
