I submitted a petition in the morn to the Ninth Sky,
And was banished at eve
eight thousand li's to Chaozhou thereby.
Intent on removing
a bad policy for the Emperor,
I spared not my frail and
declining years to give it a try.
Clouds pile up across Qin Ridge ─
but where's my home?
Snow blocks Lan Pass at which the horses shy.
Coming all the way from afar,
your intention I know:
To gather my bones ─
beside the unwholesome river they'd lie.
