The stars of last night ─
the breezes of last night ─
By the west of the painted tower
and east of the Cassia Hall site.
Phoenix's wings we lacked,
to fly as a pair,
But linked were our hearts
by the rhino horn's magical might.
Apart we sat in the "fishing game"
enjoying warm spring wine;
In groups we divided playing at riddles
under the red lantern light.
How sad I had to report duty,
on hearing the drum-beats,
Riding to the Orchid Terrace,
I was like thistledown in flight!
