The affairs of men come and go, $(with the new)$
Superseding the old since long ago.
But rivers and mountains keep traces of past glories,
And these we have come climbing to see again.
The water is low in the shallows by Fishermen’s Bridge;
The sky brings a chill to the depths of the Yunmeng Waters.
The memorial to the duke Yang is still in its place,
And after we’ve read it our gowns are wet with tears.
