Yours was a truly extraordinary spirit of heroism,
Awe-inspiring for a thousand years afterwards.
You divided the land to form the three legs of a tripod;
You managed to restore the five-scruple coins of old;
And you found a minister able to create a kingdom.
But your son did not compare with you in virtue –
How wretched they were, the former performers of Shu,
When they came to dance before the court of Wei!
