The landscape is all tranquil at midnight;
I seek on the tall building the Plough's light.
Roaming for ten thousand miles, an old man,
I feel ashamed of my life spent in vain.
O'er the Capital the changeable clouds lour;
My old house is covered with dust of war.
The Tartars aren't worthy of the Emperor's bounty;
I sigh that they are inept in their duty!
