I am a roamer far from home although it's late in the year,
While still the war is going on at the remote frontier.
The border tribes make clouds of dust when invading the Peak Snow;
The riverain town is shaken by drums and horns they boom and blow.
Heaven and Earth are bleeding everyday, and to the King.
Who will volunteer himself for service and the field win?
To fight the troublous times I shall not shrink from facing death,
Yet my brave heart can only be sore about my loneliness.
