Of all plants in the world the cape jasmine
Is indeed one of the rare kind of things.
For use, it can be taken as dyestuff,
For herb-tea, its nature is cold and rough.
Beaten by winds and frosts, red are its seeds;
Moistened by rains and dews, green are the leaves.
Cannot I bear to transplant you from here,
Where you look into the river so clear.
