For five or six years, the Tartars' steeds tread on the land and lea;
Running before the hoofs, I left Luoyang away, four thousand li.
I'm roaming in Sichuan among the wild plants on the wane,
And on account of war, here I live—an old riverain.
I stroll and stand in the moonlight, thinking of my former home;
By day, I see my brothers on the clouds when I sleep in my room.
The despatch tells that the rebels are beaten in Heyang;
I pray our Minister will push and take their den Fanyang!
