Like Fu Zijian who ruled his county by plucking the strings,
And Zhong Jun who was a statesman when not yet out of his teens,
You too, have the moral integrity, and after them,
In political affairs, have gained in our days a good name.
All of your visitants possess the canopied carriage;
And who am I, writing the poems, as a man in dotage?
Clouds and rains come down to the Chu River and Wu Gorge the same;
Under the screens, on the bamboo mats, I watch the chess game.
