In the valley

strange the flowers—
they don't look like
clusters of flowers,
they look like
clumps of fire.
Today I am the only
much-feelinged one
to come here,
every year
they blossom
without reason
and for whom?
I don't mind
that hard bitter going
to see them,
for with you
I can share the wine-cups.
The only thing
to be regretted,
that we can't take along
music, song and dance.

I am one who comes yearly Deeply moved, to view these blossoms That bloom profusely and without meaning. For whom do they bloom? I do not so much resent The sad, bitter sight of their going. I can always drink a few glasses with you— Our one want to be lamented Is the lack of music, song and dance.
