Resting on a high pillow between windows,
I enjoy plentiful sleep.
Idly floating in a small boat
I drift past the banks of the river.
Bald old servants man the oars for me;
Slender young girls boil tea and wait on me.
Before my gates is the earth's red dust;
Beyond the forest, only the bright red sun.
My faith is in the fair breeze
Blowing with its purity on the mats;
While I do nothing
Time swiftly passes by.
Resting on a high pillow between windows, plentiful sleep. Idle riding in a little boat along the river banks. Bald servants row the oars for me, slender maidens boil tea and attend. Before my gates the red dust earth, beyond the forest only the bright red sun. Entrusting to a good breeze pure upon the mat not a thing do I do but rapid goes the time.
