The long rain first clears, renewing the air;
Wind, smoke, grass and tree
All become lively and gladdened.
Though today I'm a fallen, withered remainder,
Warm sunlight enlivens my body.
The pond's smooth color dyes the water blue.
Flowers grow brilliant, hot as fire envelops spring.
As I gather together my old Shang Mountain friends,
I ask, what need have we to be young?
