As I lie on a rattan bed,
The screen is low, the cushions are soft.
Presently I am carried to the front eaves
Directly facing the bright sun.
My paralyzed leg, a worthless, foreign appendage,
Hangs down to the ground.
I only wish to pour
Three cupfuls of wine into my intestines.
The noisy wind in my head can be cured
By my looking at poems.
My broken teeth, despite my pride,
Cannot keep me from laughing.
I can still drink in little sips,
Sing in slow tempo.
So you and I need not forget
Old frolics shared together.
