Within this gorge what lovely rocks and streams!
Each dweller here as plunged in Nature seems.
Small look the flocks descending from the hills.
Through misty clouds the veilèd sunlight beams.
One path skirts round this verdant gully's side.
Some scattered homes in shading bamnboos hide.
Bids evening's shower a semibow farewell.
Some fleeing birds, hawk-scared, dare not abide.
The eye, where'er it roams, delights again.
These beauteous woods my parting steps retain.
When thinking how the cares of office bind,
For freedom lost my artist's soul must plain.
