And back I go now to my river-village,

The counties would miss you and praise your deeds; For three reigns, three emperors crowned your feats. I'll come back to my riverside village, Secludedly living out my sear old age! We've gone a long way and here we'll bid adieu; The mountains are green and void, but clings to you. When shall we meet and drink a lot again? Last night, in the moonlight, we walked hand in hand. I am going home on my own to my river village place, There to lead a lonely life for the remainder of my days. We've come this far together and now I say fare well these peaks, empty and blue, echo our feelings when will we next lift wine cups or stroll in moonlight like last night? you're loved and praised and will be missed in many prefectures you've served three emperors at court and in the provinces well, I'll go back to my river village all by myself tomorrow to finish the years I hav left in solitude and silence. |
