Her brows grow sad, as she slows her song's tune.
Don't go singing the song of the Willow Branches,
When there's no one here with a heart for you to break!
Twin tufts of bound hair Dangle, not yet arranged; She's just passed the age of half-thirty. By nature she's a girl of silks and gauze But today she's my travelling companion by mountain and sea. We swim together playfully, Scattering the spring pond's water. Then playfully we climb the stout trees. Her smiles beneath the blossoms bewitch me; Her intoxicating wiles breathe chaos with every breeze. Her decorated red sleeves impel her dancing; Her painted black eyebrows Harmonize with her soft, legato singing. Please don't sing "Willow Branches," For if you do, you'll surely break my heart. Twin bound tufts of hair hang down, not yet arranged; she's just gotten beyond half of thirty years. By nature she's a lady of silks and gauze but today she's my companion by mountain and sea. Together we playfully scatter the spring pond's waters, and playfully we both grasp the good trees.
