CHUANG-TZU levels all things
And reduces them to the same Monad.
But I say that even in their sameness
Difference may be found.
Although in following the promptings of their nature
They display the same tendency,
Yet it seems to me that in some ways
A phoenix is superior to a reptile!
Sir Chuang said all things Revert to unity I say that among this sameness Much is not the same. True, there is oneness In pursuit of easy and idle pleasure, But the phoenix is really Better than the snake. Sir Chuang said all things revert to the oneness, I say in that sameness there's unsame. True, a oneness in pursuing the easy idle pleasure but the phoenix is really better than the snake. Leaving homeland, parted from kin, banished to a strange place, I wonder my heart feels so little anguish and pain. Consulting Chuang Tzu, I find where I belong: surely my home is there in Not-Even-Anything land. Sir Chuang said all things Revert to unity I say that among this sameness Much is not the same.
