The morning rain has washed the Wei-ch'eng dust away,
The willows 'round the inn their fresh green robes display.
I urge thee, $(friend,)$ another cup of wine to drain,
Since west of Yang-kwan Pass you'll seek for friends in vain.
In Wei city the morning rain has settled the light dust At the inn it is green green with the new willow leaves I beg you to drink down another cup of wine You're going out west to the frontier and you've no friends there. Morning rain scents the city's light dust. And it's green here at this wayhouse, the fresh green color of willows. Stay a little. Linger out another cup. Once you've gone west over Solar-Bright Pass, there will be no old friends. |

渭城に降った朝方の雨で、積もっていた土ぼこりが洗われ、駅舎の柳も青々として目にもあざやかだ。
さあ、もう一杯どうかね。陽関を出て行ってしまえば、知り合いなど一人もいないのだから。
渭城（いじょう）の朝雨（ちょうう） 軽塵（けいじん）を浥（うるお）し、 客舍青青（かくしゃせいせい） 柳色（りゅうしょく）新（あら）たなり。 君（きみ）に勧（すす）む 更（さら）に尽（つ）くせ一杯（いっぱい）の酒（さけ）、 西（にし）のかた陽関（ようかん）を出（い）づれば故人（こじん）無（な）からん。 渭城の朝雨 軽塵を浥し、 客舍青青 柳色新たなり。 君に勧む 更に尽くせ一杯の酒、 西のかた陽関を出づれば故人無からん。 |
