題名: 次北固山下
作者: 王灣
客路青山外, 行舟綠水前。 潮平兩岸闊, 風正一帆懸。 海日生殘夜, 江春入舊年。 鄉書何處達, 歸雁洛陽邊。
英譯: THE travellers' road winds below blue hills, The boat goes on into the green waters. Flat marshes stretch between broad shores The wind is on our bows and a single sail holds the horizon. As the night dies the sun comes up over the water, Spring on the river has broken up the old year. How can a letter be sent home? Ah! (could I catch) those homing geese passing over to the borders of Lo-yang.
Under blue mountains we wound our way, My boat and I, along green water; Until the banks at low tide widened, With no wind stirring my lone sail. ... Night now yields to a sea of sun, And the old year melts in freshets. At last I can send my messengers— Wildgeese, homing to Lo-yang.

I wind my way along the blue hill-side, Upon the river green my ship is drifting. From shore to shore it seems wide at high tide, Before fair wind a single sail is lifting. Towards the close of night fair looms the sun, The passing year invad'd by riverside spring. Who will send the message to my dear one? Perhaps the home-going wild geese on the wing.
