IN the autumn sky the moon is full
From the city walls you can see far into the infinite night.
Again we repeat the Chiang-nan meeting
It is really too good to be true.
The wind in the branches startles the hidden magpies,
The dew laden grass numbs the cold insects.
It is meet that travellers seized by home sickness should take their fill of deep drinking
But though we strive to keep each other from parting we both fear the sound of the morning bell.
