South of the Yangtze there red oranges grow
Right through the winter they are still a green forest,
This is not because they grow in a warm climate
But because they can endure the winter.
They might be set before the honoured guest.
Ah! how come they to be hidden in deep valleys?
Our destiny is determined by circumstance;
What must be must be.
You talk only of planting the peach and the plum
Can this $((orange))$ tree give no shade?
The tangerine grows south of the River, Its leaves remain green in winter. Is it because the soil threr stays warm? The tree itself endures cold rather. Its fruit worthy of honoured guests, Obstacles its presentation deter. No law can be found in the revolving Fate that's wholly a chance matter. All go in for planting peaches and plums, Doesn't this tree give a shade better? |
