Having ceased to hold the rainbow banners, they mount the altar:
They look like slender trees, and light enough for a crystal plate.
As night wears on, their moth-eyebrows knit in complaint;
In their thin garments, their jade-like beauty feels the chill.
The white-footed Buddhist monk is in danger of breaking his vows;
The dark-robed imperial censor wishes to retire from office.
Although I too am a guest of the general,
I dare not openly take a close look at them!
