The wife of Lord Tsou of Ti-yen,
The mother of Scholar Tu of Han-tan,
Both of them well along in years,
Both of them women with pleasant faces,
Yesterday happened to go to a party,
But, their clothes being shabby, they were shown
to the rear.
Only because their hems were frayed,
They got nothing to eat but some leftover cake.
