The new grain hasn't ripened yet,
But today I used up the last of the old.
I went out to borrow a measureful
And stood at their gate, hesitating.
The husband came to the door and said
to speak to his wife;
The wife came out and said "Ask my husband!"
Too stingy to help when times are bad─
The more the wealth, the bigger the fool!
