Continuous storm and rain have spoiled the autumn. One stretch of
clouds over the whole world Darkens the days. One cannot tell horses
from oxen, going or coming. The rivers are flooded, none can tell the
clear Wei from the muddy Ching. Fungi over the trees, grains rot in
the fields. Neither cereals nor vegetables have come from the farms. In
the city you barter your bedding for two days' supply of rice. You are
lucky! Who talks about old prices?
