With twelve years of service in the army, There must be some record
of merit. The others all claim more than they should, If I speak out,
I might appear to resemble them. Back in the interior there are fights
and quarrels; What can you expect from barbarians in the North or
the West? A man's ambition should be aimed far, Why should he be-
come restless with present hardship?
