Last year I returned to the Imperial cause by this road, When the Tatars
were numerous in the Western Suburb. Even now I have hardly recov-
ered from the dangerour experience, Perhaps a part of my frightened
soul is still wandering hereabout. Having waited closely upon the
Throne, I am now sent to a great prefecture; This transfer could hardly
have come from His Majesty's own intention. I have no talents and am
growing old; I halt my horse to gaze longingly on the palace precincts.
