While the flute played on the edge of the water,
At sunset I bade farewell to my husband.
For a while I gazed upon the lake,
And there was only a white cloud rolling among green hills.
Where the lake ends, she sits now playing her flute. At dusk she bade farewell to her husband. Wistfully she stares across the water, Watching a white cloud rolling up the blue mountain side. We play our flutes as we cross to the far shore And the sun is setting as I see off my 0 $(friends)$ Turn and look back over the lake－ White clouds curl on the blue hills. Flute music rides beyond water's reach. Sun at dusk: to see my lord off. On the lake, merely turning my head: Mountain's green—curling, white clouds. |
