IN the tenth moon the wild geese fly south
They carry their migration to a certain point and then return;
But my travels are never ending
Which day shall I reach my home?
The floods have just gone down and the river is quiet,
The forest is dark and thick with malarial mists;
To-morrow morning when I gaze towards my home $((from the top of the pass))$
I ought to be able to see the plum blossom along the dykes.
They say that wildgeese, flying southward, Here turn back, this very month ... Shall my own southward journey Ever be retraced, I wonder? ... The river is pausing at ebb-tide, And the woods are thick with clinging mist— But tomorrow morning, over the mountain, Dawn will be white with the plum-trees of home. Tomorrow from the peak one more look homewards I'll cast; There, in the warm air some mume blossoms I may find at last. |

陽月（ようげつ） 南（みなみ）に飛（と）ぶ雁（がん）、伝（つた）へ聞（き）く 此（ここ）に至（いた）りて迴（めぐ）ると
我（わ）が行（こう） 殊（こと）に未（いま）だ已（や）まず、何（いづ）れの日（ひ）か 復（ま）た帰来（きらい）せん
江靜（こうしず）かにして 潮（うしお）初（はじ）めて落（お）ち、林（はやし）昏（くら）くして 瘴開（しょうかい）けず
明朝（みょうちょう） 鄉（きょう）を望（のぞ）む处（ところ）、応（まさ）に隴頭（ろうとう）の梅（うめ）を見（み）るべし
