I WAS young when I left home, But when I returned, I had grown old.
Though I still speak the local tongue, Gray are my temples.
The children saw but did not recognize me;
They smiled, and asked where the stranger came from.
To leave home very young and to return very old, With accent unchanged, but 0 hair grown thin. They see but know me not, the smiling children who inquire: "And from where do you come, Honored Guest?" |
