Last night's planets and stars, last night's wind,
by the painted tower's west sidc, east of Cassia Hall—
for us no nearness of phoenixes winging side by side,
yet our hearts became as one, like the rhino's onc-thread horn.
From opposing seats we played pass-the-hook, spring wine was warm.
On rival teams we played what's-under-it?ㅡ wax candles shone red.
When I heard the drums that called me back to work,
I raced my horse to Orchid Terrace like tumbleweed torn loose.

美しくかぐわしい
楼閣の西側 広間の東
この身に双び飛ぶ鳳凰の
彩英しい翼は無いが
たがいの心は犀の角のように
ひそかに一筋かよっていた
春の酒のほろ酔いに
向かいあって誰の手に
鉤があるかを当てっこしたり
紅燭のゆらぐ光に
組を分けて器の下に
かくした物を言い当てたり
ああしかし
明けの太鼓の音をきけば
私は役所に出ねばならぬ
秘書省に馬を馳せる私の心は
まるで風に散る蓬のようだった
昨夜の星辰（せいしん） 昨夜の風 画楼の西畔（せいはん） 桂堂（けいどう）の東 身（み）に彩鳳（さいほう）の双飛翼無きも 心に霊犀（れいさい ）一点の通ずる有り 座を隔てて送鉤（そうこう）すれば春酒（しゅんしゅ）煖（あたた）かに ろうとうくれない 曹（くみ）を分けて射（せき）覆（ふ）すれば蝋燈（ろうとう）紅（くれない）なり 嗟（ああ） 余（われ） 鼓（こ）を聴（き）きて官に応じて去り 馬を蘭台（らんだい）に走らすこと転蓬（てんぼう ）に類す 昨夜の星辰 昨夜の風 画楼の西畔 桂堂の東 身に彩鳳の双飛翼無きも 心に霊犀一点の通ずる有り 座を隔てて送鉤すれば春酒煖かに ろうとうくれない 曹を分けて射覆すれば蝋燈紅なり 嗟 余 鼓を聴きて官に応じて去り 馬を蘭台に走らすこと転蓬に類す |
