問余何意栖碧山,笑而不答心自閒。桃花流水窅然去,別有天地非人間。 | |

If you were to ask me why I dwell among green mountains,
I shall laugh silently; my soul is serene.
The peach-blossom follows the moving water,
There is another heaven and earth beyond the world of men.
You ask why I live in these green mountains I smile can't answer I am completely at peace a peach blossom sails past $on the current$ there are worlds beyond this one YOU ask me why I dwell in the green mountain; I smile and make no reply for my heart is free of care. As the peach-blossom flows down stream and is gone into the unknown, I have a world apart that is not among men. Why do I live among the green mountains? I laugh and answer not, my soul is serene: It dwells in another heaven and earth belonging to no man. The peach trees are in flower, and the water flows on. . . . They ask me where's the sense on jasper mountains? I laugh and don't reply, in heart's own quiet: Peach petals float their streams away in secret To other skies and earths than those of mortals. |
