THE screen with me that the cloud design has boundless charm; It reminds me that tin the capital Spring nights will soon follow winter's end, Which I dread. Through no fault of my own I married a high dignitary. Unfaithful to his sweet warm bed, He leaves early for his audience at court! THE screen that hides my bed is painted with clouds beautiful beyond compare, Yet in the Phœnix City though the winter is finished I dread the spring nights; For married without affinity to a high official, I am all alone; Paying me scant justice he throws aside the scented coverlet and goes off to the early morning leveé. |

雲母の屏風の嬌かしさを見るにつけ
都に冬去り春が来て
夜の短くなるのを怕れる
はしなくも位高い夫に嫁したばかりに
夫は毎朝 かぐわしい衾を見捨てて
まだきに参内せねばならぬとは
雲屏（うんぺい）無限（ むげん）の嬌（きょう）有るが為（ため）に 鳳城（ほうじょう） 寒（かん）尽（つ）きて 春宵（しゅんしょう）を怕（おそ）る 端（はし）無く金亀（きんき）の壻（むこ）に嫁（か）し得て 香衾（こうきん）に辜負（こぶ）して 早朝（そうちょう）を事（こと）とす 雲屏無限の嬌有るが為に 鳳城 寒尽きて 春宵を怕る 端無く金亀の壻に嫁し得て 香衾に辜負して 早朝を事とす 雲母の飾りの美しい屏風のうしろには、この上ないなまめかしさの女性があるために、長安の都に冬が去って、短い春の夜となるのが心配な、このごろである。 思いもかけず、高位の夫に嫁ぐことができたばっかりに、その妻は、夫がかぐわしいしとねをあとにして、朝早く出仕することになろうとは更に、思いもかけないことであった。 雲屏無限（うんべいむげん）の嬌有（きょうあ）るが為（ため）に 鳳城（ほうじょう） 寒尽（かんつ）きて 春宵（しゅんしょう）を怕（おそ）る 端無（はしな）くも 金亀（きんき）の婿（むこ）に嫁（か）し得（え）て 香衾（こうきん）に辜負（こふ）して 早朝（そうちょう）を事（こと）とす 雲屏無限の嬌有るが為に 鳳城 寒尽きて 春宵を怕る 端無くも 金亀の婿に嫁し得て 香衾に辜負して 早朝を事とす |
