As the crescent moon is born from the Western Sea,
A dimmed sun begins to rise and take its place.
When this gleaming sphere floods the east,
The shadowy soul will already be frozen in the dawn.
From the Great Ultimate heaven and earth were born,
The three great ones will rise and fall in turn.
The quintessence, I suspect, resides there,
But who could ensure the fullness of the moon?
