In the second month, they sell their silk $before the worms have
set to spinning$;
In the fifth month, they sell their crops $before the seeds are
Sown$.
Attempting to cure an abrasion of the skin,
They cut their flesh to the very quick.
If only the heart of the sovereign,
Turning to brilliant candlelight,
Might illumine the feasts not of those arrayed in silk but of these
who must abandon farms.
